Any individual who is a member of a Co-operative society (Rural or Urban) or self-help group (organized by a Co-operative society and having account in the society) for at least 3 months can become a member under Yeshasvini scheme, by paying prescribed annual subscription. Along with the primary member, dependent eligible family members can also become Yeshasvini members by paying additional subscription. Dependent members need not be members of the Co-operative society.
Co-operative fishermen, Co-operative beedi workers and Co-operative weavers are also eligible under the scheme.
‘Family’ for the purpose of Yeshasvini scheme means principle member, spouse, father/mother, sons, unmarried daughter, daughter-in-laws and their children.
Married daughters and their children if they are staying for any reason (widow, diverse, separated etc.) with their parents/brothers and paid the annual membership subscription they are eligible under the scheme in their parents house. However if married daughter is staying away from the parents house then she is not eligible in their parents house under the scheme.
In case the principal applicant has paid annual membership to unmarried daughters in the current year, and subsequently she is married, such married daughters are eligible for treatment under Yeshasvini scheme in the current year.
Other relationships such as brother/sister and their family members father-in-law/mother-in-law and their family members are not eligible under the scheme. If a primary member or CEO of a Co-operative society knowingly or unknowingly included any member other than eligible family member as defined above, under the Yeshasvini scheme and if it is noticed later that he/she is not eligible, Yeshasvini benefits to such ineligible member will be not be extended even if they are included in the card.
Annual Contribution:
For the year 2022-23 rural Co-operative societies annual subscription of Rs. 500/- for a family comprising four members. Rs. 100/-, extra ammount will be collected for each of the eligible additional family member. For urban societies it will be Rs. 1000/- and Rs. 200/- respectively.
Age Limit:
The Yeshasvini Scheme offers an inclusive approach by not imposing any age limit for individuals to become members.
New born child can get the scheme's benefits using the mother's card for a period of 30 days from the date of their birth.
Ineligible Categories:
Members of liquidated or defunct co-operative societies, members of employees co-operative societies, Government employees or employees in private sector drawing a salary of more than Rs.30,000/-month are not eligible under the scheme. Additionally, individuals who are member of any insurance scheme are not eligible under the Scheme.
